Community Talks

FWCSS is a learning community where adults are continually deepening their understanding of humanity through inner work, study of anthroposophy and individual initiative.

You are warmly invited to attend any of the following events at the school.

Eurythmy Performance in Assembly and Parent Workshop afterwards
with Adam Chan, Fri 19th of April and Fri 26th of July, 9am in the Rose Room

Adam Chan is an experienced Eurythmist having taught in Steiner schools in Australia and around the world including Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. Adam teaches Eurythmy to people of all ages; from young children through to the elderly. He performs Eurythmy regularly at conferences, workshops and festivals and is returning to our school in Terms 2 and 3 to work with the children, staff and community.

‘The Extra Lesson—What is it and how can it support childrens’ development?’
with Anne-Marie Ezergailis, Tue the 14th of May, 7-8pm in the Rose Room

Anne-Marie Ezergailis is an Extra Lesson practitioner with many years of experience working with children. She was part of the group who established the Carnegie Steiner Playgroup, Kindergarten and the Moorabbin Steiner School (which became East Bentleigh PS). Over the years Anne-Marie has worked at Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School, Collingwood College, East Bentleigh PS and Sophia Mundi Steiner School as an Extra Lesson Therapist (she also taught French at Sophia Mundi). Anne-Marie has taught Extra Lesson to student teachers at The Seminar, centre for Steiner teacher training. Anne-Marie is also a counsellor and psychotherapist and she currently sees both adults and children at her home.

Community Talks on Childhood Development
with Mel Deefholts, 14-16th October (days and times TBC)

Melanie Deefholts has been supporting parents, teachers and students in various Steiner schools throughout Australia for over a decade. She specialises in understanding child development through observations of daily life and how to work with this in a living way within the home and the classroom. Melanie has been working for a number of years with the parents and teachers at Freshwater Creek Steiner School, as well as sessions with Upper Primary students on healthy relationships with self and others, puberty and gender.
